Reflections on the Past Year

I cannot believe that this year of Project SERVE is coming to an end. It feels like just yesterday that I was pulling up to our house and meeting Allison and my roommates for the first time!

Getting to share this year with Mike, Riva, and Gina, and live in community, has been the biggest blessing. I can’t tell you how nice it is to come home from work at night and eat dinner together every night. I will always treasure the time we spent sharing about our days and the amount of laughter we shared. I am so grateful that I got to know each of my roommates and grow together as a community.

Working at the Weinberg Housing and Resource Center for the past year has also been the biggest blessing. Getting to interact with not only the volunteers that come to WHRC every day to serve meals or facilitate classes, but also our Volunteer Resident Monitors (our residents who choose to volunteer with us) has impacted my life immeasurably. The dedication, hard work and most importantly, love, that I get to witness from all of our volunteers on a daily basis is amazing.

Thankfully my journey at WHRC will not be ending this year, as I will be continuing on as the Volunteer Manager here at WHRC! Thanks to my amazing supervisor Beth, who trained  me SO well and taught me the ins and outs of all things volunteer. I am so elated to be continuing the work that I love with the staff, residents, and volunteers at WHRC and none of it would have been possible without such a beautiful year in Project SERVE.
