St. Vincent's Villa Therapeutic Group Home

 

Purpose

• To prepare children with emotional/behavioral disabilities to live in the least restrictive environment that most approximates a home-like, community based setting.
• To provide children and families with the skills and strategies needed to live successfully in their home and community or a home like alternative.

 Services

• Individualized treatment planning, including individual, group and family therapy sessions.
• Individualized behavior treatment plan developed with full participation of the parent/guardian, the child and other team members.
• Case management/advocacy services and coordination with schools and other resources.
• Psychiatric services and medication monitoring.
• Year-round structured therapeutic recreational and activity programming.
• Focused milieu therapy in areas of problem solving, coping, social skill development and life skills training.
• Routine health care services.
• Meals and snacks
• After-care planning.

  Admission Criteria 

• Children must be between the ages of 9 - 14 .
• Children must be in need of 24 hour supervision and residential services in a structured group home setting.
• Children must have the ability to follow directions under emergency conditions.
• Children must have the physical and intellectual capacity to understand the rules of the therapeutic group home and to participate in the social, recreational and educational programming provided.
