Just for Caregivers

"The Just For Caregivers Program offers me the opportunity to develop a connection with caregivers who need on going support.  Caregivers often share that they are grateful to be able to talk about whatever is on their mind. In turn, I am enriched by their experiences and insights.  It’s a two-way exchange."

Just for Caregivers helps caregivers to  access services for the seniors they are caring for, listens to their concerns, and supports them in their journeys. We discuss with the caregivers their needs, as well as the abilities and preferences of the person they are caring for, and provide information on available options. We give caregivers and their families the tools to make informed decisions and help in finding solutions to their immediate needs.

Funded by the National Family Caregiver Support Program through a grant from the Baltimore City Commission on Aging and Retirement Education, Just For Caregivers, has three eligibility requirements:

  • Caregivers or the recipients of care must be residents of Baltimore City
  • The unpaid caregiver must be caring for an adult who is at least 60 years old and needs help with two or more activities of daily living.
  • The caregiver is not in a crisis situation requiring immediate intervention

Our specialists offer personalized, written follow up including resource materials and methods to cope with and relieve stress. We offer ongoing support and assistance in solving problems that arise as well as links to support groups and referrals. We care about you, the caregiver. Contact us at dkrysiak@cc-md.org.
