Young at Heart

It was “An Afternoon to Remember” as nearly 100 seniors at the Jenkins Senior Living Community celebrated the “Senior Prom” along with some of their family members. Residents from all of the programs including Caritas House, St. Ann’s Adult Day Services, and The Neighborhoods at St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center enjoyed an afternoon of laugher and entertainment along with the chance to get all dressed up.
Staff encouraged the residents to dance with them on the floor, letting the seniors show off their moves. The entertainers from Sweet Sounds of D&J went around inviting the party-goers to belt out songs, karaoke style, to the amusment of everyone. Wonderful desserts were also served through the generous donation of the Ms. Desserts company and Mary Hayden, a family member of a resident of Caritas House, which delighted the party attendees. Toward the end of the evening, a King and Queen were chosen from each program and awarded a crown and a trophy. This event was deemed a great success by the residents. Everyone left smiling.
