Short Term Rehabilitation

“It pleases me to know that in their golden years, our elders can make choices about how they want to live.  Too often elders have been told what to do and when to do it.  At St. Elizabeth I know that I can honor their wishes—what they want—not always what we choose for them.  I like being able to approach elders as their nurse and as their friend. That’s how trust begins and I begin to know exactly what they are asking of me.  The best that I can do for our elders is to meet them on their own terms, and fulfill their wishes as best I can.”

Approximately 68% of our elders in our rehabilitation program go home.  Helping the elders and their families achieve their goals is a primary concern.  Our dedicated staff assist them each step of the way.  A community of support is created and friendships are formed to help in each elder’s recovery.  When going home is not an option, our supportive and caring staff enables elders to achieve their optimum potential, so that while they remain with us, they are at their strongest.  Elders are strengthened not only from physical therapy, but also from the emotional, and spiritual support we provide.  Ensuring that elders remain connected with their families and loved ones is an important part of the recovery process.

Some of the services we offer are physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, intravenous therapy and wound care. Reconditioning and strengthening are vital components of achieving the highest quality of life.
