“The bottom line is that it takes the whole community to see that our elders live life to the fullest. Each day we have a varied schedule of activities that elders can enjoy and participate in if they wish.  We also promote spontaneous activities that may not be on the schedule but that elders decide they would like to do at the spur of the moment. 

It’s everyone’s job to enrich the lives of elders along with their other duties: Neighborhood Guides, Nurses, Elder Associates, Housekeepers, Dietary Staff, and Therapists.  Our team’s mission is to enhance the elder’s quality of life; intellectually, spiritually, socially and physically.  I’m elated when we have come together and been able do this for another day, knowing that we will be able to do it again tomorrow!”

Scheduled activities for elders in the neighborhoods at St. Elizabeth include:

"Never Too Late"—a computer station for elders that provides access to email, games, music and Skype

Visits with St. Elizabeth Pastoral Care Staff
 
Daily Worship in the Chapel and communion provided in elders’ rooms as needed

Opportunities for elders to cook a favorite recipe in their neighborhood’s kitchen

Weekly bingo games

Wii games which elders can play anytime

Outings for shopping and eating at area restaurants
