Catholic Charities Senior Housing Communities in the News

2011 marked Catholic Charities 30th year of providing affordable housing and services for older adults. We celebrated throughout the year, in each of the areas we serve. Check with any of our communities to find out more, or just schedule a tour. Learn more about the events of 2011, where we celebrated and educated others about the value of affordable housing and services.

We concluded the year with the Christmas Festival at the Basilica of the Assumption on December 15, 2011, which benefited the programs and services of Catholic Charities Senior Housing Communities.  We thank all of those involved: the Committee Chairs, Dan and Melissa Cahill; the Festival Committee comprised of more than 30 individuals; 90 performers from the Concert Artists of Baltimore, the Peabody Children's Chorus and the Archbishop Curley Ringers Handbell Choir; 26 sponsors including our presenting sponsor, Schuster Concrete Construction; 25 volunteers; 19 contributors; and the more than 475 attendees who joined us at the Basilica!  Following the concert, 300 guests attended the Wine, Cheese and Dessert Reception at Basilica Place, our first senior housing community, located at 124 West Franklin Street.  Thank you for your support of Catholic Charities, our 22 Senior Housing Communities, and the annual Christmas Festival at the Basilica!

Catholic Charities Awarded Funding for its 23rd Senior Housing Community.  That community, Catholic Charities Senior Housing at the Village Crossroads, will be 94 units including 47 tax-credit apartment units and 47 HUD-subsidized apartment units.  Located in South Perry Hall at Fitch Avenue near Belair Road, the community will open in 2013.  In addition, we were recently awarded funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for our 24th senior housing community, an adjacent 86-unit senior apartment community, Village Crossroads II.

Our Mission

The Catholic Charities Division of Housing Services develops and manages affordable housing opportunities and services for seniors and others in need.  We promote and nurture a spirit of community, wellness and purpose among the residents of our service area and senior communities.

We believe that all people, regardless of their religion, beliefs, race or financial means, are entitled to a home. We are dedicated to promoting community, good health, happiness and a sense of self-worth for all residents.

Fatima II Opened in 2011

Our two newest affordable senior communities are located in East Baltimore adjacent to Our Lady of Fatima Church. Catholic Charities Senior Housing at Our Lady of Fatima I officially opened in May of 2010 and is fully occupied. A second community, Catholic Charities Senior Housing at Our Lady of Fatima II, opened in February of 2011 and is also fully occupied. Visit How To Apply to download and print an application for Our Lady of Fatima I or II or any of our other communities currently in operation.  Or, call 443-798-3423 to request an application packet.
