Sarah's House Mission

At Sarah’s House, our mission is to provide safe shelter, daily meals, and personal, as well as professional, casework support for those in need. Staff and volunteers understand the importance of maintaining a caring and nurturing environment for all guests, especially the children. In the spirit of the biblical figure Sarah, we welcome with hospitality those who come to us, and try to offer a sense of hope in the face of homelessness.

Sarah’s House is a place where:

• The dignity of every person is respected
• Each person is encouraged to take charge of one’s life and to recognize individual capabilities and self-worth
• Each person is accepted as an individual and supported in the journey toward stability and independence
• Guests find people who listen to their fears and frustrations with compassion, and assist them in seeking solutions
• Guests find advocates who speak with them and for them in their effort to secure basic human rights
