Bequest Language
Thank you for considering naming Catholic Charities as a beneficiary of your will or trust. We suggest using the following language:
"I give, devise and bequeath to Associated Catholic Charities, Inc., a charitable organization whose principal office is located at 320 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 (state percentage of estate or residue, sum of money or otherwise describe property) to be used for its general (or state specific) purposes."
Catholic Charities prefers that bequests be made for its unrestricted general purposes.
If you wish to name one of our programs, such as Our Daily Bread, please use this link http://www.catholiccharities-md.org/services/ to verify the correct name and address of the program. Keep in mind that, as the needs of the poor, homeless and disadvantaged in our community change, so do our programs. Talk with your attorney about using language in your will that will ensure that your philanthropic objectives are met, even if the specific program you name is no longer in existence.
Catholic Charities is exempt from federal income tax and is classified as a 501(c)(3) organization. The Federal Taxpayer Identification number for Catholic Charities is 52-0591538. Our legal name and address for use in a will, trust or other instrument of transfer is:
Associated Catholic Charities, Inc.
320 Cathedral Street
Baltimore, Maryland 21201-4421
