PRLs and TLCs are Key Players in the Dragon Boat Races

Employees who are serving as  TLCs (Team Logistics Coordinators) and PRLs (Program Relations Liaisons) have committed a great deal of time and energy to the Dragon Boat Races.  PRLs are the heart and soul of Dragon Boats. They are the program representatives who work tirelessly with their sponsor teams for months before the race, coordinating gatherings and program visits, attending practices, and handling logistics for their teams on race day.

Phyllis Sewell, manager of St. Joachim and DePaul House, has been a Dragon Boat PRL since the first race in 1998. "It's such a positive experience. PRLs are the point of contact with the companies and it's our job to nurture the relationshiop. Suntrust has been so active at St. Joachim because of Dragon Boats," Phyllis says.

PRLs can't do their job without the help of TLCs. TLCs fill in for PRLs when needed, help them with any challenges, support the teams at practice and communicate any changes or necessary information regarding race day.  On race day, TLCs are key in communicating messages to PRLs, tracking down people and information, and helping get teams to the chutes at their scheduled race time.

Mary Anne O'Donnell, director of the Community Services Division and a member of the Dragon Boat Steering Committee, coordinates and manages all the TLCs and PRLs, ensuring they have all the tools and information they need.
