ODBEC's Pat Bennett-Lynch Receives Mother Mary Lange Award

Pat Bennett-Lynch, Our Daily Bread Employment Center’s Employment Placement Specialist, was one of 45 award recipients at the Mother Mary Lange, OSP, Awards Banquet on February 11. Pat received the  Mother Mary Lange Leadership Award for her work through her parish, St. John the Evangelist in Columbia.  A parishioner since 2002, Pat serves as a member of the Parish Council, a Eucharistic Minister and a greeter for parishioners on weekends. Recently she has been a financial advisor and confidant to a single mother who lives in a home owned by the church.

The awards ceremony was hosted by Office and Board of African American Catholic Ministries of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The purpose of the banquet was to affirm and celebrate the service and ministry rendered by African American Catholics (during Black History Month) in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The designated areas of ministry include leadership, service through the corporal works of mercy, and youth who illustrate both service and leadership within their parish and the archdiocese at large.

I met Mrs. Bennett-Lynch while attending the ODBEC's Job Readiness Program and watched her commitment to human service. I'm so greatful to have her as my employment placement specialist.
