Employees Drum Up Team Spirit for the Dragon Boat Races

The Team Spirit Committee is tasked with writing the chant that is performed on race day, creating a drummer’s hat and decorating the team tent.  Kathy Mills, director of Human Resources as well as PRL and Cruise Director for the Dragon Boat Races, leads the committee with the help of Community Services Allison Stone, Assistant Cruise Director and PRL.

This year, the theme for all of these is "Catholic Charities Builds  . . ."    The tent will have a banner with this wording hanging across the front.  Each Catholic Charities program will decorate a brick (corrugated box) with their program name and what they build. For example, our Adoptions program builds families, hope and love.  The boxes will be set up around the perimeter of the tent to create the appearance of the front of a house or a building with low side walls.  

The hat will be constructed out of legos and the chant will also be centered on the building theme. The team spirit committee also organizes a pep rally that is held the week before the race and they support the Catholic Charities team at practices along with the help of staff in each of the divisions throughout the agency .
