Formerly homeless men to attend Christmas party

Formerly homeless men will attend a Christmas on December 18, 1 p.m., at Catholic Charities’ Christopher Place Employment Academy located in the Our Daily Bread Employment Center at 725 Fallsway. The party is hosted by volunteers from Advance Radiology.

For the participants in the 18-month residential employment program, the celebration will give the men an opportunity to experience the joy of the holiday and encouragement from volunteers who support their recovery and progress. Christopher Place Employment Academy provides intensive training for employment, financial management and counseling for drug and/or alcohol addiction. Transitional housing and saving of 90% of participant’s salaries help the men become self-sustaining when they leave the program. In 2008, 126 men participated in the program with 100% successful job placement for men completing the program.
