Catholic Charities Senior Housing at Abingdon accepting applications for its 76 rent-assisted, one bedroom partments for older adults

January 18, 2007-Catholic Charities Senior Housing at Abingdon is accepting applications for its 76 rent-assisted, one-bedroom apartments for older adults. The project is a HUD Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly apartment facility. The building is located at 301 St. Clair Drive in Harford County, at the intersection of Singer Road, accessible from Route I-95 and Route 40.

Residents will pay a rent of 30 percent of their adjusted gross income. To be eligible for residency, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a least 62 years of age
  • Meet HUD established income guidelines (2006 limit is $25,500 for 1 person; $29,100 for two person)
  • Meet all of the local preference requirements
  • All faiths are eligible for residency.

The apartments are approximately 540 square feet and will include a fully equipped kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, a pass-through between the kitchen and dining area, carpeting, personal emergency response system for residents, wiring for cable television and telephone, tenant-controlled lobby entry system and individually controlled and metered utilities. There will be community and recreational activities, and support services. The building will include:

  • A multi-purpose room with a kitchen for large group activities
  • Lounges for informal activities
  • Library/Game Room
  • Laundry room and lounge to facilitate socialization
  • Computer center
