Catholic Charities of Baltimore announces new members

Catholic Charities of Baltimore has announced five new members to its Board of Trustees. Beginning their four-year appointments are: Robert T. Cawley, President of RCM&D, Inc.; Edward K. Dunn III, Partner-Brown Advisory;  Marianne Schmitt Hellauer, Partner- DLA Piper; Monsignor Arthur Valenzano, Rector, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary; and J. Scott Wilfong, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer- Sun Trust Bank, Greater Washington/Maryland.

According to Executive Director William J. McCarthy, Jr.: “Every one of these talented individuals brings significant expertise and leadership that enhances Catholic Charities’ ability to respond to the needs of our neighbors in effective, efficient, and compassionate ways.  What we accomplish on behalf of those we serve, as well as our employees, donors, and volunteers, makes Baltimore a better place.” 

Catholic Charities is Maryland’s largest private provider of human service programs, providing assistance to children and families, the elderly, the poor and the developmentally disabled—without regard to religion, race or other circumstances. Of its 80 programs, Our Daily Bread provided 261,841 meals to individuals and families, averaging 717 people per day.
