Senior citizens will attend an outdoor prom under a pavilion on June 10, from 1 p.m.-3p.m., on the campus of Catholic Charities’ Jenkins Senior Living Community. Located at 3308 Benson Avenue in Baltimore, “An Afternoon to Remember” will feature the music of the Sweet Sounds of B & J, a husband and wife duo, crowning of a king and queen for each campus program, and refreshments, courtesy of Ms. Desserts.

LaKeia Brown, household coordinator at Caritas House Assisted Living, arranged the dance. More than 150 seniors are anticipated to attend from the Jenkins Senior Living Community that includes Caritas House, The Neighborhoods at St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, DePaul House and St. Joachim House, and St. Anna Adult Day Services.  Brown says, “It is important that the elders have activities that they can get excited about and participate in. This is what makes life enjoyable.”

The Jenkins Senior Living Community offers a continuum of caring for elders throughout the various stages of aging. Catholic Charities is Maryland’s leading private provider of human services, offering programs for children and families, seniors, the poor, and people with developmental disabilities. The Agency cherishes the Divine within each person that is served, without regard to religion, race or other circumstances.
