Celebrate the music of Christmas in the beautiful Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Cathedral Street and give to those less fortunate.

This year, the Christmas Festival benefits Catholic Charities Community Services programs My Sister's Place Women's Center and Our Daily Bread Employment Center.

We're pleased to return the Festival to the Basilica this year, now that their renovations are complete. The Baltimore Basilica, built from 1806-1821, was closed from June 2012 until March 2013 to repair damage sustained from the earthquake of summer 2011, and from April 2004 until November 2006, for a major restoration to return the church to its original design, as envisioned by America's first bishop, John Carroll, and as planned by renowned architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe. The Basilica is one of Baltimore's beloved cultural institutions, offering educational tours daily, as well as hosting uplifting concerts and informative lectures.  We also invite you to visit the beautiful Pope John Paul II Prayer Garden, adjacent to the Basilica, at the corner of North Charles and Franklin Street.

Guests from prior Festivals share their experiences…

“Greeters with candles, great crowd, the musicians and singers were in the best voice ever, and the reception was top notch!  Bravo!”

“It was a truly magical evening.”

“Bravo! Incredible performance. I will always remember the entire concert, especially O Holy Night”

“Last night’s performance truly was inspirational to us and the Spirit of Christmas came alive.”
