PNC Brings Sesame Street Themed Planetarium to Harford County Head Start
April 12, 2010

Through PNC Banks Grow up Great program children at Harford County Early Head Start enjoyed Sesame Street’s One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure, a cross cultural planetarium show. The traveling planetarium show, which consists of a 20-minute show in a giant inflatable dome, is geared toward children ages 4-6 and provides an enriching, exciting and interactive introduction to astronomy and other sciences. Big Bird, Elmo and Hu Hu Zhu, a muppet from the Chinese co-production of Sesame Street™, take an imaginary trip to the moon. The Head Start students enjoyed having the Sesame Street characters guide them through the stars.
Prior to the show, the Head Start teachers discussed the sky, moon and stars in class with the children.
Harford County Head Start is supported by the PNC Grow Up Great program which invests in school readiness to help prepare children from birth to age five for success in school and life.
