Testimonials from Immigrants We Have Helped

"I am Bardomiano Torres from Mexico. I entered the United States in 1980 and worked on a ranch and made my residency in 1988 in the state of Texas. I changed my state to Indiana and applied for my whole family and all of them received permanent residency. Now I am an American citizen in 2001 and 3 of my family are too. My son passed his citizenship 4 years ago and my 2 daughters passed 2 years ago." -  Baldomiano Torres, Mexico

"I am from Lima, Peru. The first place that I came when I arrived to the U.S.A. was Hispanic Apostolate (now the Esperanza Center). I think they follow Jesus Christ’s teaching because they help poor people who come to this country to try to improve their lives. People who work here help us. I admire people who work here as volunteers because they help us in different ways. They remind us that Jesus Christ is alive." - Ana Maria Goonan, Peru

"I came to the Hispanic Apostolate (Now the Esperanza Center) on the fifteenth of March this year because I needed to learn English and this is exactly the place to learn. This place has the teams and equipment for teaching and I am happy. I am going to get my drivers license. My boss he says that if you have a license, I’ll pay you more. I had a hard time to making an appointment. Finally I went in August. My goal is to bring my two sisters to United States and live in a house." - Cesar Hernandez, El Salvador
