As Maryland's leading private provider of human services, Catholic Charities offers an array of services to more than 160,000 of our neighbors in need each year. Through the Maryland Charity Campaign your gift can be designated to support the work of Catholic Charities of Baltimore, and three specific Catholic Charities programs serving Maryland’s most vulnerable:

    Our Daily Bread Employment Center Fund, Designate #7982

    As many feel the effects of a down economy they are turning to the Our Daily Bread Employment Center, not only for a hot meal, but also for the resources to achieve self-sufficiency through employment and housing services.

    • Over the past year, ODBEC has placed 441 individuals into stable employment, and served 262,000 meals to Baltimore's hungry.

    Your gift to the Our Daily Bread Employment Center Fund will improve the lives of people living in poverty by supporting the following programs located at the Our Daily Bread Employment Center:

    • Our Daily Bread hot meal program
    • Christopher Place Employment Academy
    • Maryland Re-entry Partnership
    • Catholic Charities Employment Services
    • As well as, case management, and an array of education, referral and emergency services

    Sarah's House Fund, Designate #7983

    On the edge of Fort George G. Meade Army Base, the emergency and transitional housing offered at Sarah's House is much more than just a safe place to sleep. Your gift to the Sarah's House Fund will help homeless families achieving independence and strengthening their families.

    • Over the past year, Sarah's House provided shelter, transitional housing, case management, employment and follow-up services, and child care to 249 adults and 349 children.

    My Sister's Place Women's Center Fund, Designate #8140

    When vulnerable women and their children are unsure of where to turn, My Sister's Place Women's Center is there with open doors to provide a safe and supportive environment. Your gift will help My Sister's Place Women's Center offer women and children three meals a day and access to resources and services necessary to regain their independence.

    • Over the past year, My Sister's Place Women's Center served 57,508 meals and assisted 3,130 women and children with day shelter, case management services, life skills workshops, resources, referrals, shower and laundry facilities.
