The challenges of raising grandchildren and other related children can severely stretch the resources a family has available to them. As a kinship care provider, you may be eligible for certain resources to help you raise the child you are caring for.
A Kinship Care Navigator can connect you with:
Financial assistance resources
Support for housing
Child care Resources
Health care services
Behavioral/mental health services
Kinship Care means 24-hour a day care and supportive services to a minor child in the home of a relative by blood or marriage. Kinship Care families may or may not have a formal connection with the Department of Social Services.
If you have questions or are overwhelmed with your challenges as a caretaker, feel free to call. A Kinship Care Navigator is knowledgeable about the service systems in Baltimore County, and is available to provide support and guidance. A Kinship Care Navigator can help you find what you need at no cost.
