Dragon Boat Paddler Requirements

Join a company-sponsored team.
Attend at least six supervised practice sessions.
Make a commitment to race on the day of the event.
Learn about and partner with a Catholic Charities program.
Be able to tread water for about 10 minutes.
Involve co-workers outside the boat in the team spirit competitions.
Spread the word about Catholic Charities Dragon Boat Races and your partner program.
Cooperate with your fellow paddlers in leading your team to victory!
Have a great time whether you win or lose.
Recruit a team of 22-25 people to be in the boat (The boat holds 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steerer. You may want to train 1 or 2 alternates as well.)
Recruit a mixed gender and culturally diverse team with a minimum of 8 female paddlers and a maximum of 25 people.
Attend a mandatory coaching clinic.
Ensure that your steerer attends mandatory clinics and can pass the "steerer test."
Collect your team's waivers and submit attendance rosters.
Ensure that your team members are present on race day.
