Volunteer at Gallagher Services

“I have worked for Gallagher Services for ten years and volunteered for many years prior to that. Knowing our individuals and being a part of their lives has opened up a world of warmth, genuineness, and loyalty that are rare. I am constantly reminded of the wonderful gifts that being here has brought to me and I want to share that with everyone. I invite you to join the Gallagher volunteer team. It will change your life.”
Stevie McDonald
Spiritual Development Coordinator
When you decide to volunteer your time with Gallagher Services, you will be joining a community dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. We have many opportunities for you to consider. Volunteers with Gallagher Services need to be 16 years of age or 14 years of age with adult supervision.
Volunteer Opportunities
Groups: We welcome business and community groups for volunteer activities at either of our two day program locations in Timonium and Perry Hall. Groups can also undertake outdoor gardening projects at our day program sites and homes in the community.
Faith Friends: Individuals and groups from faith communities can become partners with us in a variety of ways. Volunteers can accompany individuals for activities and worship in their faith communities. Volunteers are also welcome to participate in an ecumenical worship service with us on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. at our main center in Timonium. The service includes Roman Catholic Communion.
Service Learning: College students interested in volunteer activities related to their course of study have an opportunity in areas such as administration, public relations, and speech pathology with our programs located in Baltimore County.
Special Friends: High school students can join other young people in activities to establish friendships with people with developmental disabilities. Special Friends commit to serve for two hours each week during the school year on either Sunday morning or Wednesday evening in Baltimore and Harford Counties.
