Your Gifts at Work at Gallagher Services

“I became involved with Gallagher Services in 1995 when I first toured the program, saw the work of Catholic Charities first hand, and wanted to help.  Since then, I have had the opportunity to chair the Annual Golf Tournament each year and co-chair Gallagher’s Holiday concert on two occasions.  It has been a rewarding experience for me to be associated with Gallagher Services and see the funds we have raised put to work.  The funds are used for capital improvements for our 50 homes and for our three day programs that provide each individual with the chance to live as independently as possible, and experience meaningful daytime activities, including employment.  Funds are raised by the annual golf tournament, holiday appeals, individual gifts, and planned gifts.  Gifts to the Gallagher Family Fund ensure that we will be able to open the doors to a fuller life for people with developmental disabilities today and continue to provide Gallagher Services’ quality programs for years to come.”

Your Gifts make a Difference

Gifts to the Gallagher Family Fund help Gallagher Services maintain and improve our fifty homes and three day programs to ensure the same high quality of care that has been our mission since Gallagher Services’  founding in 1977.  Normal requirements for environmental systems, physical structures, and refurbishment can require from $500,000 to $600,000 annually, whether for replacing and repairing roofs, maintaining exterior paint and masonry, or upgrading and replacing major systems and appliances.  Additionally, we regularly need to renovate and upgrade our homes and day programs to accommodate the changing needs of individuals as they age.  This could require adding a ramp, renovating a room, creating an accessible bathroom, or installing an elevator lift.

In addition, our reimbursement rates from the State have not always provided the resources necessary to maintain the level of quality that we have established for the Gallagher Services.  Since our founding, we have built and acquired homes and day program facilities that are valued in excess of $10,000,000.  The Family Fund will provide the resources to maintain our homes and day programs at this same high level for the years to come.  Your gifts to the fund therefore become a legacy of caring and support for the individuals with developmental disabilities who—with staff, families, and friends—make up our Gallagher Services Community.
