St. Vincent’s Center

Rotating images that showcase Catholic Charities. Each tells the story of a specific program and links to an in-depth story about each client and their success.

St. Vincent’s Center provides residential treatment services to 70 children in Timonium, Maryland as well as state of the art child abuse prevention services locally and nationally.

Located in Timonium, St. Vincent’s Center provides intensive diagnostic, stabilization and treatment services to children, ages 3 to 13, and their families. The children are typically unable to live in a family setting due to severe emotional and behavioral challenges. Many of the children have experienced profound abuse, neglect and trauma. These children, who come to us from all over the State of Maryland, have often endured numerous moves from one caregiver to another before arriving at St. Vincent’s Center.

St. Vincent’s Center provides hope and healing for a new future through a best practice model of sophisticated treatment services that include the best of a home-like setting for young children. Upon discharge, 87 percent of children leave and go to a family, 43 percent of these families are permanent homes including biological parents, relatives or adoptive placements. We offer a unique program to Maryland’s children and have offered child and family-centered services for over 150 years.

St. Vincent’s Center Child Abuse Prevention Programs are known as Child Safe and Illuminations. These programs are focused on providing child abuse prevention education, training, and awareness to educators, parents, children, mental health professionals, law enforcement and the general public.

St. Vincent’s Center is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Human Resources and accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
