Welcome to Families
That Work

Families That Work helped Vanessa obtain her GED so she would be
better prepared to enter the workforce after having her baby.
We assist women who are temporary cash assistance recipients starting in their third trimester of pregnancy with attaining the life skills and employment skills necessary to secure employment and maintain a healthy, balanced life. Starting three months prior to birth and continuing for the six months following birth, we work with each of our mothers on an individual plan that will give them an opportunity to be successful. Our women participate in life skills and financial literacy workshops, enroll in GED classes, and get job ready, so they can rejoin the workforce soon after giving birth. We help new mothers ensure the well-being of their young families.
