Early Head Start

The Martinez family attended the first day of Early Head Start.

Learning is alive and growing in Carroll County with the new Early Head Start program which opened May 3, 2010.

The Early Head Start program serves pregnant women, parents, and children under the age of three from low-income families.  Catholic Charities Early Head Start of Carroll County provides educational opportunities for children to help them develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.  The staff help children develop skills that are appropriate for their ages and those that will help them get along with others and succeed in the world around them.

The programs four locations are in the Head Start main site in the Carroll Non-Profit Center, at the Westminster Church of the Brethren, the Sunshine Child Development Center in Manchester, and the New Beginning's Christian Learning Center in Taneytown. Home-based services are also available for families unable to visit one of the centers.
