Legg Mason Hosts a Night at the Ball Game for Anna's House

(l-r) Mark Wadia, Legg Mason dragon boat paddler, Anna's Guys volunteer Mike Peters, Legg Mason dragon boat paddler Jamin Brown and Shelley Bliss, captain of the Legg Mason dragon boat team, with children from Anna's House.
Members of the Legg Mason dragon boat team invited a few of Anna’s Guys, a male mentoring group, and children from Anna’s House to their suite at Camden Yards to watch the Orioles beat the Chicago White Sox. It was a perfect summer evening for baseball, food and fireworks. The Orioles bird and a former Orioles player stopped by the skybox to meet the children and sign autographs.
Legg Mason, who had been partnered with Anna’s House for three Dragon Boat Races, supports the transitional housing program throughout the year by hosting cookouts, chairing fundraisers, assisting with the annual Breakfast fundraiser and sponsoring families at Christmas. Shelley Bliss, the dragon boat captain, also serves on the Friends of Anna’s House committee.
Anna’s Guys is a volunteer group comprised of twenty men who devote Wednesday evenings and Saturdays to spend time with the children. The men, who serve as positive male role models, take the children on outings that include fishing, bowling, miniature golf, the zoo, and Chuck E. Cheese. The trip to Camden Yards is the highlight of the year and it gives the children an experience they might not otherwise have.
