Social Concerns

Laura Collins and Abby Maloney of Sarah’s House meet with Delegate Steve Schuh at the January 24, 2007 Catholic Charities Day in Annapolis.

Speak up for those in need!

Our Social Concerns staff brings the issues facing vulnerable people served by Catholic Charities to state policymakers and the wider community. We promote a greater understanding of social justice by sharing the stories of the people we serve and the lessons learned by our staff. We develop effective advocacy strategies in coalition with like-minded people and groups.

"Social Concerns invited me to testify in Annapolis for a bill that would make health insurance coverage more affordable for teens leaving foster care. I believe telling lawmakers about my service and experience with Catholic Charities can lead to improved health care for these teenagers, and it has given me a chance to live out my commitment to faith and social justice." - Sean Lee, Center for Family Services
