Legislative Education Group (L.E.G.)

33 Years of Advocating for Vulnerable Marylanders

“Politics... should be about an old idea with new power - the common good. The central question should not be, ‘Are you better off than you were four years ago?’ It should be, ‘How can we - all of us, especially the weak and vulnerable - be better off in the years ahead?’” - Faithful Citizenship: A Catholic Call to Political Responsibility

In just a few minutes,
you can make a world of difference!

Catholic Charities’ Legislative Education Group (L.E.G.) is a non-partisan volunteer advocacy network. As a L.E.G. member, you volunteer to contact your state elected officials on issues of concern for the most vulnerable Marylanders.

L.E.G. is an easy, yet powerful way to advocate for vulnerable Marylanders. More than 550 L.E.G. members receive educational material on issues and speak out during Maryland’s General Assembly each year on behalf of at-risk children and families, people living in poverty, those who are aging and those living with developmental disabilities. Join us and make a positive impact in the lives of others!

By joining L.E.G. you amplify the voice of those who are poor, of vulnerable seniors, of children and families, and of people living with developmental disabilities. Since legislators may see up to 3,000 bills during the session, when you draw attention to key bills, it does matter!

For more than three decades, Catholic Charities L.E.G. members have been taking action to encourage our elected officials to be accountable to citizens in need. We invite you to join us and discover a valuable way to contribute to your community.

L.E.G. members receive:
