We Can Help!

How do I/we get started?

Thank you for your interest in Catholic Charities' Adoption Services. We have experienced staff and a long history of providing pregnancy and both international and domestic adoption services. For over 75 years, we have been providing services to women facing unplanned pregnancies, as well as child placement services in Maryland. We began placing children available through international sources in 1979. Catholic Charities provides comprehensive adoption services to all members of the adoption circle - birthparents, adoptive parents, and adoptees - through all phases of the adoption process.

We serve people of all faiths and races. You do not have to be Catholic to adopt from Catholic Charities. Primarily, we serve clients who reside in Maryland

Our Values

Our Services Are:

  • Respectful - We value each individual's intrinsic dignity, culture, race, religion and community.
  • Empowering - Through our services we encourage individuals & families to find their inner strengths and make positive life-long decisions.
  • Focused on Quality - Through continuous improvement efforts we evaluate our services in response to the needs of individuals, families, staff and communities.
  • Collaborative - Working in partnership with our clients, staff, agencies, and community programs we learn, share resources and build on our strengths.

We Can Help!

Catholic Charities has helped many families come together through adoption. We have placed thousands of children through domestic and international inter-country adoption. Our professional staff has years of adoption related experience. We can help you negotiate the complicated labyrinth of bureaucracies, paperwork, regulations, laws, and most importantly, relationships, that adoption entails.

Unlike some adoption agencies, Catholic Charities offers a full service adoption program. We can assist you in choosing the best adoption plan for your family, educating yourself about life-long adoption issues, completing the home study process, communicating with foreign adoption agencies or with birthparents, and managing the waiting time through our supportive services. After the placement of a child, we can help as you incorporate the child into your family, and help educate, support and counsel you as your family grows.
